Art
Art is a big part of the history of C-view, its present and future.
Several artists and photographers have studios at C-view and we hold regular exhibitions and performances.
Exhibitions of work we have hosted include:
Cath Stanley, Janet Samson, Katrina Sadrak, David Jacques, Warren Draper, Heidi Dent, Naomi Jasmine, Roza Frydrych and Elle Casson, Dave Williams, Pete Samson, Dave Hiskey, Terry Chipp, Adam Berry, Madeline Pick, Maia Weerdmeester, Katarzyna Szulc, Cezary Barnobo Gruzewski.
Also, Women's Photography, a national touring show and a mural by the artist Phlegm in our courtyard.
Music videos and films are shot in the unrenovated parts of C-view, such as Editors music video ‘Marching Orders’.
It is known by many as 'the old art college'. The picture opposite are some of the 1969 art foundation course, including the late and greatly missed artist Dave Williams, who had a studio here in his final years.

“A few months ago I was invited to C-view and I knew instantly that its post-apocalyptic courtyard was the perfect space for a fire-lit story or two. I sent pictures of the courtyard to Phlegm and he too fell in love with it. The Telling would not have been possible without DCT. We’re lucky that the trust is managed by artistically-minded people who realise that property is only an asset if it’s actually being used”
“I have held studio space in C-view for almost 8 years. At first I shared a studio with other artists before moving into my present, larger studio which is ideal for me as it offers both work and display space. The building and facilities are clean, tidy and keep the character and history of the old art college which is always of interest to visitors. The staff are friendly and helpful without being intrusive, so I am able to get on with my work with the peace that I need.”
